Let's Talk English
Data: 28/04/2010
Pronuncia, vocabolario e grammatica e, nello stesso tempo, informazioni utili agli studenti stranieri attinenti la vita universitaria.
Queste la novità della rubrica di Let’s talk English. L’argomento di oggi, riguarda le modalità di immatricolazione ed iscrizione alla nostra Università.
Riportiamo, di seguito, il testo letto dalla speaker, in modo da facilitare la comprensione e l’esercizio della pronuncia, oltre che “fissare” la regola grammaticale del PRESENT SIMPLE.

Hello and Welcome to the Let's Talk English rubric.

In this rubric,
in addition to looking at English grammar and vocabulary,
we will also be guiding you through the procedure for enrolling
in the "Gabriele d'Annunzio" University.

The University is spread over two campuses,
one in Chieti and the other in Pescara,
and comprises twelve faculties.

The faculties of
Pharmacy,
Letters and Philosophy,

Social Sciences
and Educational Sciences
are located in Chieti

while

the faculties of
Architecture,
Foreign Languages and Literatures,
Economics
and Management
are located in Pescara.

Each faculty offers a number of degree courses.

To find our more about the various faculties and degree courses
you can consult the English language
on the top right-hand corner
of the University homepage.

Some of the courses
such as the degree course in Medicine and Surgery
and the degree course in Architecture
have limited or selected entry.
This means that only a certain number of students are accepted in them.

Anyone interested in applying for one of these courses
must take an entrance exam on the date specified by the faculty.
For further information about entrance exams,
again
consult the English language
and also the Orientation
which you can find by clicking on the
on the right-hand side
of the University homepage.

must complete this form
which you can find on the same

Fees must be paid before enrolment
and proof of payment presented on enrolment.

In the guide for enrolling in the "G. d'Annunzio" University the PRESENT SIMPLE tense
was frequently used.

Examples of the present simple tense that were used are:

The University is spread over two campuses.

If you are a foreign student…

Other documents that required are specified in the Foreign Students

It was appropriate to use the PRESENT SIMPLE tense in the sentences you saw and heard before
because reference was made to an habitual or standard action in present time.

Can you repeat the sentences you heard before:

The University is spread over two campuses.

If you are a foreign student…

Other documents that required are specified in the Foreign Students

Thank you for participating in the Let's Talk English rubric.
